Train Like A Jedi programme

Change4Life and Disney, with the support of Sport England, have joined forces to inspire children to get more active.

Physical activity has been associated with better personal health, social and academic outcomes. Kids need at least 60 minutes of activity every day and just 23% of boys and 20% of girls currently meet this recommendation. Being active is all about having fun, and kids are more likely to get moving if its enjoyable. The new Star WarsTM -themed Train Like A Jedi programme will encourage children to have fun whilst moving more.

Star Wars is one of the most popular franchises of all time. Following the story of the Jedi Order and the Resistance, Star Wars captures the hearts and imagination of every generation.  PHE have partnered with Disney to launch Train Like A Jedi – a physical activity programme that incorporates the excitement of Star Wars and its characters to inspire kids to have fun and get the 60 minutes of physical activity they need each day.

The Train Like A Jedi video is at the core of the programme. It’s an exciting and fun Star Wars-themed play-along video, featuring double Olympic gold medallist Jade Jones who guides kids through 12 special moves to help them master the ways of the Jedi. Activity levels often decline over holiday periods, so this year we’re helping kids embark on a Train Like A Jedi adventure with Disney to get them active.
